Our Process

When you call our office for an estimate, Cheryl or Carleen will help you set up an estimate time. All estimates are designed and given by me, Kenneth Axt and my brother, David Axt. Detailed estimates are finished on site and almost always left with you the same day. We can provide you with an estimate for:

  • Exterior
  • Interior
  • Carpentry
  • Decks
  • Gutters and Downspouts

Your estimate will be in a folder with information on licensing, insurance, our membership in Better Business Bureau, product information, references, and evaluations.

Kenneth Axt Painting uses a variety of professional, top quality products for your home to ensure a long lasting paint job. We use Sherwin Williams Super Paints for both interior and exterior painting. Be sure to ask us about Duration Exterior Paint, the Sherwin Williams lifetime guarantee paint, along with the Duration Home Paint for the interior of your home.


Color selection

If you desire to change colors we will send our decorator, Marcie, to custom design your home. There is no additional charge for this service. Marcie will bring color charts and will write out a design sheet of colors chosen and where they are to be used. You can also select your own colors by going to our web site and link to Sherwin Williams.

Carpentry

We replace all rotten wood & siding with pvc, hardi and hardi trim (materials that are impervious to rot). We only replace with wood if the configuration of the rotted piece cannot be obtained in pvc or hardi.

Painters

Shortly after the carpentry is finished, the painters will wash the house and begin preparation and then painting. We have exterior crews that specialize in just exterior and interior painters that specialize in interior painting.

Supervisor

Kenneth and David Axt will set up the crew on the first day and review details of the job, products to be used, color, and specific instructions. They will also visit the job as it progresses to ensure work is carried out according to their design. When the job is finishing they will do a personal final inspection.

Referral program

We know satisfied customers and referrals are critical to our business and we want to encourage our customers to refer us by offering them up to $100 cash for their referral

Maintenance Program

We have developed a maintenance program as a customer service that we believe is the most economical way of getting your money’s worth on a painting project. We ask our customers, if they desire, to call us every three years and request a maintenance touchup estimate.  Kenneth or David make a list of the maintenance touchup and any carpentry work and the cost. Some of our customers have maintained their home in this manner for over 13 years and counting.

Payment

During our 37 years in business we have always allowed our customers to have financial leverage thru the job. Upon completion of carpentry work, payment is due for that phase. When half of the painting is completed half of painting cost will be collected and upon completion the remaining balance is to be paid in full.
